Role of Statistics in Real Life

Some of the things I come across at home that I find statistical computation or graphical representation is the newspaper. When i read the Sunday newspaper, i will come across literally hundreds of statistics in reports, advertisements, and articles. This is relevant to us as we can analyze what is happening in the world around us. We can also know trends in what happened in the past and predict what may happen in the future. It is useful to know all those so as to be aware of what is going on around us and keep up on the forever changing world.I feel that data collection is the most important part of the process of producing the graphical representation or statistical computation. Without the data, we cannot do data analysis and reach a conclusion. We also cannot input the wrong data as it would give people a wrong idea and it might lead to confusions and chaos. So during the process of data collection, we should know clearly what kind of data we are collecting, how it is useful to what we are assessing on and the purpose of collecting it. It is best to plan before hand what are the data you will be collecting and so on so that you can concentrate on collecting the data properly.Last but not least, I feel that when statistics are not presented properly may lead to people having a wrong impression. They might end up using the data and confuse more people and there might be a chaos.
